Is it time to sell? 2020 MSP

Ok-Canary1766 | 2026-02-23 15:54 | 0 views

So I have a 2020 MSP I bought used at 18k miles 2 years ago. In December at 42k miles HV battery was replaced under warranty. Last week I had the HV battery replaced again under warranty. Should I cash out on my car? No other issues, not even tires. The only other service I’ve had Tesla do was replace the rear hatch struts. Car is paid off. Clear title. I think KBB is 24-27. I know I can’t replace the car for what I would sell it for, but I also don’t want to be somewhere and get stranded because of the battery.

That’s surprising, my wife’s ‘21 M3 needed battery replaced 2 years ago…it’s holding 99% still. You still have another 2 years of battery warranty…hold for now? Like you said- “can’t replace” for sale price😑. Good luck 👍

Some context I gave the service advisor: the first time it happened I was charging a new V3 supercharger that opened near my house. Nearing the end of the charge session the dash lit up like the 4th of July. At first I was in shock because I hadn’t seen those errors before. Called Tesla and had it picked up and taken to the service center 3 hours later. Last week it happened the morning after charging at that same V3 supercharger. I told this to the advisor and he said interesting but I think that’s a coincidence. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Edit: Reading comprehension... Model S performance, not model 3... The problem is the voltage sense harness design in the pack. Tesla will only restore it back to the factory flawed design, and they only fix the sense wires that lift, and shove the pack right back out as a reman. Serial failures are to be expected. There are 3rd party fixes to break the cycle, but they are not cheap
