Selecting Options

New to the scene but was wondering… has Tesla always been stingy with the options? By stingy I mean you either get a bare bone car or the premium version. Other cars you can do weird things like have a stock car with ventilated seats (which might come with 1 other package but doesn’t make the car a higher trim level) I would love to buy the Cyber Truck at $59k with an option for premium interior but I still lose the towing capacity, payload, audio system, suspension, vault bed, and 2nd row screen. I’m assuming it’s for manufacturing efficiency but it would be nice.

Yep, they’ve always kept configs very bundled. I couldn’t even get my 3 with white dash + black seats.

That’s unfortunate. I do wonder what those options would do to the used car market. Maybe they would retain value a bit better if there were more configurations. Wouldn’t be so easy to track the value of each one.

I'm sure the payload and tow capacity are limited by the 18" wheels. Structurely it's the same truck. The only real big difference is the air suspension, which does play a big factor for off roading, self leveling, and having a smoother more adjustable ride height.

That makes sense. I wish they had a $5-$7k interior upgrade so you don’t have to jump up $20k for things you don’t want though.
