v2.1.1 in other markets while we’re on v1.4 from 8 months ago 🥲

While it would be nice for them to give us an update more than once per year, the version here now atleast is stable. That was always the biggest issues I had in past with pre 1.4 where it actually impacted driving.

I emailed BYD Aus this question the other day, this was their response: Thank you for contacting BYD Australia. The BYD Seal does not yet have any new OTA updates from factory in the Australian Market. We understand customers are seeing the v2.0 in other seals overseas although this is not yet available in Australia. OTA updates are region-specific, tailored to local regulations, vehicle configurations. While China benefits from the most rapid and frequent OTA rollouts due to its massive domestic infrastructure and regulatory environment, international markets like Australia and the UK receive updates on a phased schedule to ensure compatibility and compliance. All OTA updates are handled directly by BYD China which includes roll outs, dispatch, release date. If software updates are available, they are dispatched in batches and do not go to all vehicles on release. This is to avoid any bug fixes and ensures all vehicles are running correctly with the new software update. We do kindly ask for your patience while the software update gets distributed. Your vehicle will notify you when the software update is made available.

My update got rid of my tyre pressure widget 🫠

Except it doesn't because new cars are coming updated to v2.1.1.

That's new cars, and you'd expect them to come with the latest software. Their OTA roll outs to Australia have always been excruciatingly slow.

Agree. If it's good enough for new cars, it's good enough for OTA.
