First use of VTL

The electricity was out my small Queensland town this morning. I was able to run the church's audiovisual equipment, and a fan off my Seal. We ran out of extension leads to run the other fans. Our regular preacher was out of town so we were planning on playing a video sermon, the Seal made that possible.

Interested to know why they didn't go down the route of a generator given its a small town and you would think they would have plenty of them. The silent operation of VTL for me would seem the obvious choice but just wondering given the push back you tend to get from people out of the major cities.

That's so cool

This is probably only the second or third time we've had a power failure on a Sunday morning in the 10 years I've lived here, so a generator would be overkill on our small budget. Power failures tend to happen after storms so its usually a late afternoon or evening thing. I haven't had much push back actually. Most say they wouldn't buy a BEV, but people do have questions about it. I've had to correct a few misconceptions. (No I'm not worried about it catching fire in the garage 😉) People seem to be a bit surprised how nice a Chinese car is. There are at least 4 BEVs in a town of 7000 people. (My Seal, an Atto3, a 3 & a Y). We finally got a fast charger in town last year. It's only 50kw. I haven't tried it yet as it is much cheaper and easier to charge at home. Its nice to know its there as a backup if needed.

And most importantly, after the service we could run the coffee maker 😉
