SOC after Calibration Charge

meatpak | 2026-01-12 00:05 | 9 views

My 2025 Seal Performance is just over 4 months old and has done just shy of 10,000k. During the Xmas break, I took the opportunity to do a calibration charge (using the granny charger). I took the battery down to 9%, then over the next couple of days...up to100% in one charging session. My battery was at 100% when I left home this morning and I've used 4% (according to the dash). I also just installed Electro, which gives me the below: https://preview.redd.it/wti7x1hy7tcg1.png?width=399&format=png&auto=webp&s=eb44c8fcc8f1e008006d490633068255809e2950 Considering the cal charge was done just over a week ago, do these stats look as good as I'd expect?

The health is 99%. It looks good. Did you have any issues with it so you decided to do a calibration?

Dont they recommend you do the Health check at 50% charge? Or was that just Tesla. Thought I saw something on that but could be mistaken.

No issues, just following the guidance suggested by BYD to do it between 3 to 6 months. I could be without the car for a few days over Xmas, so it was an ideal time to get it done.

How did you do that health check read out?

I installed [https://electro.app.br/](https://electro.app.br/)

Cheers that seems great, is there any draw backs?

I've only run it for a few hours in trial mode, but at face value, it's awesome. So much so, I purchased a microSD card to use with it. I haven't really read anything negative about using this app.

I've had electro for several months and no problems. Best one out there and easy to install and use. Plenty of useful features. There are a couple of other native Chinese language based apps that do similar but install and use not as easy as its not all in English.

>then over the next couple of days...up to100% in one charging session well which was it, over the next few days or in one session?

SexyDraenei 2026-01-12 05:50

BYD says <10% to 100% in a single session. every ~3months.

meatpak 2026-01-12 07:03

The 'session' lasted a couple of days until it reached 100%

SexyDraenei 2026-01-12 07:06

get a better charger lol

I'm using a 64Gb card for now. Trial for Electro runs out in a week, so I'll hook up a subscription asap.

Granny does the job for me for what I need day to day.

Both dashcam and sentry do exactly what they should do. IMO, it's definitely worth the bother. The app does the things that BYD should be doing themselves.

Oh yeah I know that one, I was talking about the battery health check itself. It may just be a Tesla Battery chemistry thing but I'm pretty sure its done at 50% SOC. Might be completely different in BYD LFP?
