Fear of techno and paternalistic car beeps!

TifCohesion | 2025-12-09 23:57 | 5 views

Picking BYD Seal premium this weekend. Exciting. But also I am an old person and terrible at technology. Can I save a 'chloe setting' or do I have to readjust everything each time (thinking whatever the regen settings, in cabin perception, warnings and other paternalistic features?) - I drive far every day in country roads and want to avoid annoying beeps. Also as an android phone user what are the best ways to access phone etc?

Congrats! I picked up my Seal 2 months ago, and my experience of the beeps has been great. But having said that, I’m a city driver, so your mileage may (literally) differ.  The only thing I found I needed to turn off is the audible speed limit warning. It kept reading things in the city that weren’t speed limits and bonging at me. That setting doesn’t turn itself back on so haven’t needed to touch it since, and now I just get useful alerts for the most part.

regen settings stay. safety bullshit you are stuck with, because you dont get points for having them on ANCAP testing if they can be permanently turned off. you can turn the volume on the stupid beeps right down though.

As mentioned, if you turn the systems off, they will turn back on when you start the car the next time. This is actually in compliance to European design rules for safety systems. What you can do though, is turn the volume and sensitivity of them right down. Those settings will stay. I have a 2025 Seal, and found that they don't really trigger under normal conditions. As an Android user, the best way is to connect the phone wirelessly with Android Auto.

Slightly off topic but haha, Chloe setting. I named my Seal Chloe https://preview.redd.it/n90gzy7u5a6g1.png?width=1344&format=png&auto=webp&s=254b5367f11fcb7839dae7b1b529dda312575626

Your question about accessing the phone etc on an android.... If I understand the question correctly, Android Auto
