Reset the TPMS

Hi everyone, I’m driving a 2024 BYD Seal and recently changed my tires. Since then, I’ve had a constant warning light and incorrect readings from the tire pressure system. The values shown are wrong and the warning light won’t turn off. I can’t find any option in the menu to reset the TPMS. Is there any way to reset it myself, or do I really need to go to the dealer to have it reset?

No. There is no way to do it yourself. You must visit the service center who will reset the same. I have done 2 rounds of Tyre rotations and even after driving 1000kms the tpms did not "relearn" the new positions.

Some claim it'll reset by itself. Personally, mine has been through two tyre rotations and nada - I just made sure that they were all above the warning pressure. However, after new tyres last week, either the tyre shop coincidently managed to get each sensor on the correct corner, or dropping them all to 0psi then pumping them up again forced them to reset 🤷‍♂️

You can do it yourself with one of these https://preview.redd.it/mguw8hxdsy4g1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cd4b781e4fbf73fb5964ca01994eff3b4ef2c80f

If you're in or near Sydney I'd be willing to reset them for you with the tool I have

I have tried to deflate them and re inflate. Did not work for me.

Interesting, not even too expensive. I just made sure the Service Centre did it when they rotated tyres, which was MyCar and they had no issues.

I bought it because our other car, a 2017 Subaru Impreza, had the batteries die in its TPMS sensors and Subaru wanted ***$400 PER TYRE*** to replace and reprogram the new ones. So buying this and a few $30 aftermarket sensors made absolute economic sense. Later I found it'll do our BYD with stock sensors too and came in handy after tyre rotations. Well worth the investment it turns out.

yeah but did you try driving it for a few k's on 0 PSI so it could detect it? (kidding, don't do this)
