1.4.1 Update
Anyone else just get this drop now? Can't see any major changes and only point release?

It is more on SOC. The improvement has yet to be felt. Based on my observation, some feel the battery performance is getting better and some feel getting worse. https://preview.redd.it/zyko3oxhaulf1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=74c04f5d5a19e5c212ddf232eec9654cdcc93e7a
It has some minor updates and I assume body module updates, but it's not a major update for the IVI. It still reports 2503 afterwards. From info posted on the FB groups it appears to just contain an update for the battery management system
The v1.4.1 update is the overall system not a OTA "patch" update for lack of a better term. 1.4.1 is supposed to calculate the SoC more accurately - dynamically but on the FB group people haven't noticed any difference. OTA 2506 is supposed to be coming soon with that brings a major UI upgrade.
Got the update lasnight whilst sitting in the car it made a few odd noises n took around 20mins. Will be keen on driving it to see any noticeable differences the range on my performance (in winter) struggles to get 400km doubt it will affect this.
What model do you have and what range are you getting from full charge may i ask?
Since yesterday I've had a popup telling me to plug in the receiver for the karaoke microphone that I don't own/want. Unsure if this is related to any update, but it started happening out of the blue while I'm driving as of yesterday. I'll check when I get out of the office what version I'm on.
I havent got the update yet. Does it update when car is connected to wifi or does it have to be connected using its own SIM card? When my car is parked in the garage it is always connected to our home wifi..
Own Sim I guess as was when I was out driving that it popped up when I came to stop.
It needs to be the BYD provided SIM as it has required authentication on the BYD servers.
Thanks for the replies, I will try to disconnect from wifi and see
Even with the BYD SIM it dosnt guarantee you will get the update straight away, they are released in batches. I haven't received it yet. I haven't received 2503 yet. BYD's release of OTA updates leaves a lot to be desired.
Seal 2024. My yesterday’s charging as picture. For highway driving is possible to reach 600km. For full town driving going to be less than 450km. https://preview.redd.it/qg4tsc56vulf1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e84d3edde193631f3329a2edf96afac47e7bb7b7
Interesting! Must be the Premium long range, others have said EVs are the opposite and hwy driving gets lower mileage than stop start (suburban) driving good to hear you’re getting that many….my Performance definitely isn’t close but probably factoring winter and A/C usage for heating n cold battery i guess *hopefully
Any indications on what the UI upgrades will be?
It's a complete overhaul of the UI to 5.0. Changes the whole look and feel. Brings it inline with the Shark and Sealion (7 i think). I dont have a change log but have one screenshot of the new main screen from a telegram channel. https://preview.redd.it/gr52a2abnvlf1.jpeg?width=1023&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2bd353a603c9db13f00df174e88843ccf9536682 UI 5.0 Home Screen
That's awesome - a much cleaner design in my opinion. Fingers crossed we get HUD updates as well that include directions at some point in the near future :).
Yeah batteries are usually the opposite. I find it unlikely ( but not impossible) one could get 600km out of the Premium on the highway unless you are driving at 70-80km/h and no aircon on and getting a slip stream from a truck and going downhill. Over exaggerating a bit there but yeah. I have a premium and my limited highway experience was more like 400-450 kms. Highway driving easily reaches 20kw-h/100km. Side note aswell is when the car is off the range in the app uses the static calculation not dynamic. Switch the car on and in the app it will display the dynamic range. I think that's right from memory.
2506 already out and running. :)
Don't listen to anyone who says own sim. Doesn't need it. I dont even use the telstra sim that came with the car. I use optus. No app control but I dont require it. I've currently got 2506 installed without byd sim.
Not sure where you got 2506? If from diwnload it doesn't include updates for modules other than your tablet I think.
Don't expect it will change the actual range but maybe improve the range estimate on dynamic. My performance tends to over estimate dynamic range, actual range I achieve is about 530 to 550 in extra urban and a bit over 400 in highway driving. Not nursed but not exceedingly aggressive driving. In normal mode 95% of time sport for the other 5%. Not aggressive Regen, as I found that to actually decrease range due increased acceleration/deceleration cycles. Close to 25k on the odo with about 16 kwh/100 lifetime consumption
Sideloaded. Have had it for weeks now but I use a different interface called Dudu which is way better. Its new Dilink 5 GUI
