Snuck in enough damage to write it off eh. That's a sweet way to get a large battery system.

planning on buying it for a project, just wanted to find out exactly what happened.

SexyDraenei 2025-07-19 08:10

its a repairable write off, so its going to go to my mad scientist lab before going back on the road :D

Good luck

Got any other pics of the damage?

found the pickles link, [https://www.pickles.com.au/used/details/cars/2024-byd-seal/61959601](https://www.pickles.com.au/used/details/cars/2024-byd-seal/61959601)

looking at the pics on pickles, looks like hit from behind or reversed into something at speed. Also no NFC card with the keys.

SexyDraenei 2025-07-20 04:38

yeah id say it copped a shunt from behind and then it bumped into something else in the aftermath, possibly hit a guardrail trying to avoid hitting someone in front.

ringo5150 2025-07-21 05:19

That was a decent hit from behind. The ripple in the side panel is the cabin absorbing the energy so I'd have a fair degree of confidence that the chassis is bent and thus its a write off. The screen lights up however so that is a good sign that the electrics are still alive.

SexyDraenei 2025-07-21 05:34

> chassis is bent if that were the case it would not be listed as a repairable write off. chassis damage is instant stat write off. That said, ill be basing my max bid on what I feel I could recover parting it out if it came to that.

p0isonapple1 2025-07-21 19:10

Well, I think what happened to the car is pretty obvious now.

you have your own mad scientist!

Wide-Enthusiasm-7937 2025-07-22 11:32

No it’s not. There needs to be 3 points of structural damage to be deemed a stat. Best to do some homework. Good luck.
