Clicky Accelerator

EsotericComment | 2025-06-30 22:18 | 7 views

Hi Seal Team, I'm a couple of weeks into ownership and I must say pretty much everything in the car is phenomenal, from the looks to how well it handles road imperfections. That said, I have started to notice the accelerator makes a subtle clicky/crunchy sound when letting off the accelerator pedal and going over bumps in the road. There's no noise when I press the pedal and let go when the vehicle is in "P" with the EPB engaged. Not sure if this is normal coming, from an ICE car. I'm currently using high regen braking on ECO mode. Is this just me? Edit: I've just gone over 1,000kms and the sound gradually weny away, for anyone who has the same issue. Switching it from ECO to Standard made it more bearable. Cheers.

If you're slowing down for the bumps it's probably the physical brakes kicking in. They'll be a little crunchy until worn in, but it does go away

Hey thanks for taking the time to reply, do you know if any physical brakes are applied when letting off the accelerator? It happens when I adjust foot pressure to control vehicle speed when going up/down a hill

Oh, if you're at-speed then no it wouldn't be the physical brakes unless you're braking \*hard\*. They only kick in at low speed or coming to a stop, or if you brake so hard it exceeds the regen limit. Does it do it if you leave regen at 'normal'?

Have you checked simple things like debris and the position of the floor mats? And what type of footwear. You could possibly be holding your foot differently when testing in park mode, giving a different outcome.

It might, but not too noticeable since I'm covering the brake and not constantly adjusting foot pressure on the accelerator. Does yours make any sounds?

EsotericComment 2025-07-01 02:10

Yep, checked this too - doesn't seem like it's anything caught behind the accelerator. Does yours make any sounds?

Mine doesn't, no

Might be something I bring up during the 3 month inspection then! Thanks for the help 🙂

No sounds that I noticed driving today, I did pay attention after reading your post.

Thanks for the update, how many KMs have you driven? I'm still on about 500 so I'm hoping it's just a break in period thing!

red_dragin 2025-07-01 05:39

21000. I think occasionally the cover on the side of the pedal scrapes, but I'm not 100% sure. You'll notice little noises here and there, as there's no engine noise to drown them out anymore.

Haha 100% the quietness can be a double edged sword.. I can hear literally everything. I'll keep driving and hope it goes away over time. Thanks mate 😎
