Got mine last night too :)

Psychlonuclear 2025-05-27 00:19

Just dropped mine off for a service and the prompt came up as I switched off the car, lol.

bingo_for_the_win 2025-05-27 00:37

yep, mine showed up as well. Upgrade went smoothly and everything seems to be working

CasualJan 2025-05-27 00:43

I have this weird urge to try to clean your screen through my screen..

Numerous-Implement47 2025-05-27 02:03

Haven't tried it yet, but thought I heard it now had the turn directions on HUD similar to newer model when you use the built in maps app, which is now already heaps better

Waiting for the 1.5 upgrade which also cleans your screen

xoskrad 2025-05-27 02:42

I took my car in for a service on Friday, they updated to 2501, last night I got the ota for 2503

InfiniteGiraffe7373 2025-05-27 04:44

Saw this post, went to my car. Hit update (it didn't do anything before), and finally it's updating now. 101 mins of waiting.

dgj69 2025-05-27 05:21

Lucky owners, they give you a free update for a car that you’ve purchased from the company.

niweoj 2025-05-27 05:38

Is this only for Seal or is there an update for sealion 6 too?

Lumenatti99 2025-05-27 06:25

Think this is a Seal update in the Southern hemisphere as in Europe and other places have had this for several months now.

Installing mine now. https://preview.redd.it/ywe1bca1ga3f1.jpeg?width=2268&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0b88fd057010c34c445646d6fc79be7330270dd4 Includes all the reported elements for those wondering how wide spread the version without the maps is?

1bnna2bnna3bnna 2025-05-27 08:52

No, it's a reference to a little 'heads up ' image ahead of a turn that pops up on the main screen - not the HUD. There was something similar in the existing native system but as best I can ascertain it only popped up at extremely complex intersections to show you your route. The sorts of intersections you see in Melbourne and maybe in Sydney.

Wooden_Resolution_12 2025-05-27 09:06

OTA arrived for me too Cairns

SexyDraenei 2025-05-27 13:10

you should be charging to 100% at least once a week.

SexyDraenei 2025-05-27 13:12

good way to annoy your service tech, start an update that makes the car undrivable for 100 minutes when you drop it off. bonus points if you block the driveway with it.

SexyDraenei 2025-05-27 13:14

yeah the phrasing is a bit weird.

SexyDraenei 2025-05-27 13:15

camera makes it look worse than it does IRL

1bnna2bnna3bnna 2025-05-27 13:31

Just a little hint, if your route planning isn't working (i.e. it isn't adding in the charging stops automatically), there is a little setting deep in the navigation settings menu where you need to turn it on.

2niteshow 2025-05-27 15:36

Got mine ove the weekend. I dont really know whats new tbh. I just don't want to lose my sideloaded apps.

SexyDraenei 2025-05-27 23:14

the biggest thing is the climate controls always on screen

SexyDraenei 2025-05-27 23:14

have never used the stock navigation.

Astrarle 2025-05-28 04:10

Sideloaded apps will stay if you upgrade. I upgraded to this version yesterday and still have all my apps.

You mean like, in the owners manual? The advice you give is invalid for the type of batteries used in BYD cars. This is what the manual has to say https://i.imgur.com/CLNusoG.png If you make a habit of giving incorrect advice you may find your posting priveleges in this subreddit restricted.

1bnna2bnna3bnna 2025-05-28 08:26

It has some very good features not in Google Maps and it works with the screen split, syncs speed zone with the HUD etc, so now with Google as the base map and supplying the map data (including all your maps navigation preferences nd favorites, search etc.. it is exceptional. Given that moving between it and AA is no also easier because of other changes to the UI, it is my go to from now on. No question.

Different battery chemistries. LFP you can safely charge to full whenever you want, and should be charged to full regularly to maintain calibration.

SexyDraenei 2025-05-28 13:13

Its incredibly rare that I use any navigation app, so.... also the fact that it uses google maps routing is not that confidence inspiring, given how awful that is.

1bnna2bnna3bnna 2025-05-28 22:21

That map is the best consumer street map on Earth?

2niteshow 2025-05-29 00:20

I've had that for a while now since 2412

SexyDraenei 2025-05-29 13:09

and yet it still tries to send me down super sketchy dirt roads because its like 6 ft shorter than sticking to the highway.

1bnna2bnna3bnna 2025-05-29 23:19

Literally never happened to me.

SexyDraenei 2025-05-30 01:43

literally every time I try to navigate somewhere. can't use any kind of route planner without putting loads of waypoints in to stop it from routing me through some fucking farmers back road.

1bnna2bnna3bnna 2025-05-30 03:43

that would likely be a limitation in regional locations where direct route is somewhat in conflict with 'best route and the quality of road infrastructure AND the data available to the map provider is limited. i live is a major city, rarely ego off the inter city freeways if I travel and when I do, it's usually direct to a community location (as opposed to traveling between two regional or rural locarions). This may explain my user experience. Google maps is so good I use the multi-modal elements every day (I drive, but, train and walk) and it knows better than I do - including about transport interruptions.

SexyDraenei 2025-05-30 04:51

I just put in a journey that I did recently, from my home in a regional area to a big city. 396km for the default route. had to add 3 waypoints to get it to stick to the highway. this route was 407km. either it doesn't have info about road classes, or its overly prioritising shorter distance over sticking to better roads.
