The price of the scheduled service is capped at those rates.

One would think, but prices have risen?

BTW if you're in NSW and have a Linkt toll account, they send out promos every so often. Right now it's $40 discount, recently it was $100 discount. https://preview.redd.it/yohqecpp722f1.png?width=1080&format=png&auto=webp&s=e87fe91997fa9dc1b8ce018ddfaa202375660173

I think prices have risen from what's in the screenshot. I'm sure they updated the set pricing which goes against the capped pricing concept. That wording reads as though the yearly servicing starts from the 3 month courtesy service, whereas I would have thought the yearly schedule starts from when you picked up the car.

I always read set service pricing as something being static for the duration of ownership..kinda defeats the purpose of even wording it that way I think. Typical marketing gimmick.

what car is this for?

SexyDraenei 2025-05-23 02:15

looks like the small services have gone down but the bigger ones have gone up. and different between models and variants now.

Byd Seal 23

Wow. I just checked 48 month service, it's practically doubled an a bit! I won't be recommending BYD to anybody. *

Mhm weird. Here in Europe the maintenance plan is 24 months/30.000km. Whichever comes first.

2niteshow 2025-05-25 10:07

Really? Can you show me some documents? Apparently Tesla here is in the same, not sure.on km but definitely 2 years.

Icefeldt 2025-05-25 10:24

In the beginning of the "Seal's life" in 2023 it was 1 year/20.000km here too, but after some time, they extended it. You can check the Austrian manual e.g.: Page: https://www.bydauto.at/modelle/seal Direct link to the PDF: https://cdn.prod.website-files.com/66347b470d661c296385362e/673f50d4101b7462382a2044_BYD%20SEAL%20Bedienungsanleitung%E2%80%93Linkslenker-DE-komprimiert.pdf Page 197 lists the parts/intervals. Everything is at least 24months/30.000km except for some cooling liquid which is 72months/90.000km

Wow. We certainly getting ripped off here in Australia. \*\*\*\* CHAT GPT \*\*\*\* According to recent data, the BYD Seal Performance has an average annual service cost of $422.64, totaling approximately $3,381.12 over the first 8 years. This estimate is based on BYD’s capped-price servicing program, which outlines service intervals every 12 months or 20,000 km, whichever comes first . While a detailed breakdown of individual service costs per year isn't publicly available, the average annual figure provides a reasonable estimate for budgeting purposes. For the most accurate and up-to-date information, it's advisable to consult directly with BYD Australia or authorized service centers. https://preview.redd.it/3el8qkv9pw2f1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7737f4387b02948c5409c6c7428a71601d6690ec

According to reports in the germany seal forum, the first 30.000km inspection costs between 370-470 usd (converted from euro) depending on the dealer/city.

I wonder why they're serviced at 30,000km.
