Tesla Chargers compatible?

Have you had the Tesla retrofit done?

No. I’m a newbie. How do I do that?

I have the V3/V4 retrofit and have charged at a bunch of different Tesla chargers but for some reason the Heatherbrae/RT chargers I wasn't able to get to work

If it's a newer Seal you don't need it, it's only for early Seals which need an extra wiring harness

how old is it? if it was built march 2024 or later its done from the factory.

You're good to go then mate. You will need to install the Tesla app and under your account, there's a 'charge your non-tesla' option then follow the prompts.

Although I just checked and under “Vehicle Details” there was no option for BYD. Lots of other Makes and Models… So I’ve just put in “Other”.

Yeah seems like that part is still American’ised where BYD passenger cars are currently barred.

How much did the retrofit cost of you don’t mind me asking

Looks like this is a new thing, I never had to put that in before but I just opened the app to double check and it came up with a warning saying 'Missing Vehicle Details, complete your vehicle details to ensure Supercharging access'. Hopefully 'Other' doesn't stop it from working. Guess Elon is feeling the BYD heat haha.

No charge as far as I am aware, just need to make a booking at the BYD service centre. I think they are just making it opt in to keep the cost down (since many people probably don't care about Supercharging)
