What state u from? The rego papers will tell u which year the car is registered as. My aunt purchased a merc which has 2024 build plates, but it was compliant in 2025 and registered as 2025 so I myself am confused. Just go by what the rego has.
Charger isn't important. Download an app called plugshare and it will show u all the chargers around.
A decent home charger is a Tesla Gen 3 model. Check out fb marketplace for them. Should go around $650 or less. That's what I use and recommended a friend to buy also.

Yeah in WA, salesman has been very hands off so far little to no communication. Rego papers say 2025/01 for build date so I'm guessing it's a newer model. Hopefully don't have to wait too long to receive.

There will be a plate on the car door sill or engine bay somewhere which will actually tell you build date... byd are shit at communicating.. all i knew was my car was on the first ship over which it was. I missed a voicemail message which would've allowed me to pick up thr car 1-2 weeks earlier. Luckily they had it waiting for me (or one lying around).

This is what I said in another thread:
A lot of people are talking about not getting a 7kw wall charger. I disagree and think it hampers the experience of owning the car and having it spend more time charging than able to be used. We’ve found that we drive a lot more with an EV, just casual weekend day trips across town as we don’t think twice about how much petrol it costs to run. But it’s also then easy to run the battery down over the weekend if you need to drive to work on weekdays.
I say continue with your plan to get a wall charger put in, cheapest one will do (heard Bunnings now do <$500 ones, we have a $700 Tesla one which was the previous cheapest), and then switch to an EV plan that gives you a cheap tariff overnight to charge the car. Then set the charging schedule to those hours. Saving money not putting in a wall charger only to pay through the nose for peak electricity is a false economy with the huge added downside that you’ll spend more time needing to charge and worrying about how much range is left than actually enjoying the nice new car you paid big bucks for. (Referring to needing more than the cheap charging window in order to get an adequate charge)
Plug it in overnight for peanuts on a low tariff and you will never worry about how far you can travel and what % you return with, wake up with ample range everyday.

Not sure about wait times at the moment, i doubt whether its a MY25, but best of luck to you if it is :)
re charger - that REALLY comes down to your daily usage (and to an extent, whether you have solar or not)
for example if your doing 100+km's a day, then you will need something more than the included (8A) charger, the performance seal uses about 18kWh per 100km... Whether you just install the 32A charger or maybe buy a 15A is up to you and whether you have a 15A outlet...

I didn’t say that was the total cost, the costs to install a charger are pretty well known. I’m just saying that previously most chargers are $1k+ just for the unit, now there are options that are half that.

if you've got money for a performance model, you've got money for a wall charger 😉
I think the wall charger is worth it because it looks extremely neat on my wall, has timed charging, works to prioritize sending solar energy to the car if I choose, allows me to schedule and control charging remotely via the app over the internet, app tells me total kWh charged and money spent.

Log into My Account from the BYD website, you will see your order details and a pic of the car. You can tell by type of rims what model you have coming.

Whatever the salesman told you for delivery date, add a month at least

It's definitely seeming like that now. Supposedly, it's in their presale workshop now but I was told that a week ago.
