New Prices and Colours

Doctorgow | 2025-01-14 09:14 | 16 views

Was having a look at the BYD website as I do from time to time and noticed a massive decrease in the prices of the premium and performance trims which also seems to be applied to their other vehicles. Also the fact that you can no longer get the light blue exterior colour on any of the trim levels with the shark grey no longer being a performance exclusive colour and is now available on the premium too. Any thoughts?

Waiting patiently for the GT-06...

Same. I just want them to announce something about a date so I know if it's worth waiting.

I was about to buy a Seal premium but will wait now. I saw a potential date when they are available in March.

I can decrease my insurance premiums now on my performance seal. It's been at the repairers for nearly 5 months!

It's kind of depressing seeing this prices. In Brazil, the Sealion 6 Premium would be 82200 Australien Dollar.

Yeah it looks really nice, so curious to finally see it

Doctorgow 2025-02-03 05:03

Yeah the new one has a lot of nice quality of life features that I will definitely miss on my one

Doctorgow 2025-02-03 05:03

That is so unfortunate, any update yet?

Doctorgow 2025-02-03 05:04

Oh wow, that such a massive difference, must be BYD’a want to dominate the Australian market, so they need to have very competitive pricing is my assumption

Fit_Evidence_4958 2025-02-03 05:19

Well, they charge whatever they can. Cars in Brazil are expensive (compared to USA or EU) anyhow, especially the yearly tax and insurance. It seems the BYDs have kind of a "upper class" image and able to achieve those prices. They sell a lot of them, there are almost no alternatives regarding EVs and HEVs. But my impression is the same, they act really aggressive in the market, mainly to get a big junk in the market share. I hope they will build a charging network down here as well, otherwise EVs doesn't make sense so far.
