BYD app store

staunchsir | 2024-12-09 02:17 | 11 views

Has anyone worked out or heard if BYD is ever likely to provide more than 3 miserable apps to Australia? With its major competitor offering Netflix while parked, BYD needs to step up. Happy for it to log out of any streaming service once the car is engaged in R or D for obvious safety reasons. I might be missing something, but i can't access Netflix via the browser either.

I see posts about downgrading, installing apps, and upgrading. You'd have to find others with more knowledge. However, there are options.

I just don't see BYD really bothering to put in any additional effort. Look at the updates in AUS, they were mostly compliance type issues, with a few well received inclusions, but they are stopped and there are no signs across the globe they are going to do anything more...not that I have seen anyway.

You would have to search on Youtube, there were some guides on how to i've seen in the past, but not sure if they still work

It's the same in Europe, we also are wondering why the hell only 3 ridiculous apps are available and it's not possible to connect to a larger library with Android apps... I also have downgraded to install more apps and upgraded back, very annoying that this is the only way to go. I guess that BYD is afraid of a larger variety of different apps, will have negative effect on infotainment and cause lagging and so on.

Just get a Carlinkit, leave the BYD system to just do the car stuff. Don't forget at time some of these apps required specific Android builds to work, so it's a bit of a waste of time. You can also just use AA and Car Play, but Carlinkit obviously allows you to do things like watch Netflox while driving that could technically be illegal, but also still provides the full non AA experience from Apps. The thing I do want is the stops in the Maps, which apparently Europe have, this time we are lagging on the update

Unlikely. They would have to add DRM/Widevine for a start for them to function.

Sideload apps. I have YouTube, YouTube music, waze, chrome, Amazon prime, and I few others I can't remember. Oh yeah, Sentry mode too and remote viewing. My car has been at the smash repairs for nearly 4 months now cos I got rear ended. Currently driving a Tesla M3. [smart guard](https://tinypic.host/image/1000059604.2AsMVR)
