CarPlay broken after iOS 18 update

Fit-Station1052 | 2024-11-29 01:22 | 7 views

I updated my iPhone to the latest version and CarPlay does not work. I have tried to remove and reconnect the phone and it allows the Bluetooth to connect but the pairing fails. I get an accessory not compatible error. Has anyone else had an issue or seen this previously?

I updated my phone and it worked fine this morning. Have you rebooted the iPhone?

I had to reboot the phone but it does work in Australia

I’m on the beta version 18.2 it’s worked every step of the way

Sorry if I misunderstood you, but is removing your phone the same as forgetting it? If you haven’t yet go into CarPlay setting on the car and get it to forget your phone before registering it again

Thanks everyone. After multiple attempts at forgetting and re-pairing, renaming the phone as well as rebooting both devices several times, I was able to pair it again. I tried so many different things that I’m not sure what the solution was in the end. Seems to be a known issue for iOS 18 but only for some iPhone models. 🤞 the next update won’t break it again.

Had the same issue when the wireless CarPlay feature was launched on the Seal via OTA. What solved it permanently was doing a reset of the cars infotainment system. Not resetting it to factory settings but just rebooting the unit. Don’t have the car with me right now so I can’t remember the exact name of the setting.
