Flat Tyre
Don't bother calling BYD Roadside all they will do is arrange a tow truck. You need to tell them which tyre place you want it taken to add after you have checked which one has a BYD tyre in stock.

My seal detected back tyre had low pressure, got to petrol station, could not get air into it. Large screw in the tyre. Removed screw, now dead flat. Had to use the cars tyre repair kit and compresser which all worked. Next day took to local MyCar, happens to have a spare Eco Contact tyre, that another customer ordered but didn't pick up otherwise would have put a different brand on the car. Told me once you use the sealant to repair the tyre has to be replaced. So only apply as a last resort. Lesson learned...The petrol station air compresser should have a button for flat tyre that pushes a large bust of air for flat tyres, (I didn't know that), try first, leave the screw in, may retain the pressure so you can get to a tyre shop. $350 for new tyre and a new container of sealant from Amazon. BYD only sell the whole tyre repair kit, not just the sealent. Only good news was MyCar guarantee the new tyre for 1 year, if it gets punctured will send a mobile van out and change for free.
Mine is front tyre, can't see West caused it. Tried the sealant but could only inflat to 21, when I unplugged inflator tyre went flat straight away. Spent the last hour calling to find somewhere which had a matching tyre and now waiting for that tow. MyCar were the most helpful in this.
Always send your car to Mycar if you want an OEM tyre fitted. They always have Conti EC6Q (19 inch) in stock. For those that aren't aware, Mycar is owned by Continental Tires.
I keep a puncture repair kit in the car just in case, they are about $20 from Amazon and has enough rubber repair bits for about 10-20 holes. Apparently some of the sealants they have will stick to the rim and tyre and cause a headache for the mechanics to get off.
Could also inflatable to around 22 psi with the inflater, but it sealed the puncture, drove it around the block to distribute the sealent, back to petrol station, it held up so inflated somemore at the petrol station. Think in the morning pressure was done a bit but solid enough to get me to Mycar. Thinking, can I buy a 19inch skinny tyre, jack to leave at home, can get the Mrs or a mate to bring to the car, change out and get me out of trouble. Or even get road side assist to change since I have cover. Your situation is unfortunate.
are the stock contis directional? I have a spare rim, wondering if its worth getting a tyre fitted to pack it for long trips.
Do you all just buy new tyres after every Punture ? Here we get it fixed by an external Punture and fix it back on.
If puncture is on the side wall they won't fix. If in the tread they will repair.
So going by your need for a matching tyre - your side walls were damaged ?
yep
Where did you get the spare rim?
bought it off someone who changed theirs out. they sold the 4 that came on their car to 4 different people as spares.
I'll keep an eye out then as want to do the same as you mentioned. Another option would be new set of rims. Saw some that looked very good on another Seal.
How to make a long trip not a huge drama if you get a flat? Is it as simple as buying a tyre puncture kit off amazon? The idea of sitting on the side of the road in summer waiting for a tow gives me anxiety lol
