Just so you know, we’ve got different models here. We have the Performance (equivalent to your excellence I believe), Premium (same size battery as the performance but RWD only, longer range) and the dynamic which has a slightly smaller battery, smaller wheels, and I believe is the only model without HUD. I’ve got the Premium, and can’t speak for how it compares to the Performance, but the steering is exceedingly light. I only suspect that the Performance would be no different, but I can say that I usually forget that the HUD is even there and look at the screen behind the steering wheel. I don’t think I would miss the HUD if I didn’t have it.

Thanks a lot that's very helpful and good to know that the steering was light as that's what I was hoping for.Because the dealership were saying there is absolutely no difference in Steering between RWD and AWD.

Are they offering test drives where you are? I didn’t directly ask for one on my first visit to the dealer, but I hadn’t even got home before they were on the phone falling over themselves to arrange a time. If steering is what you are worried about I think you would be well served by asking them if you can have a go at parking it, or whatever you think might be your biggest concern. One thing I was surprised by was that with all the external camera views I still prefer to park using mostly my side mirrors. I found that the overhead view wouldn’t line up with my actual parking job, so it would look like I was parallel on one side but not on the other, but I could see in the real world that the lines were parallel to each other. I plan to bring it up at my 5k service, as maybe they can align them better. I also found that the turning circle was wider than I was used to (I was coming from a Ford Falcon, a reasonably big car), and in reverse wasn’t as good at pivoting around the inside rear wheel for a tight reverse into a spot. I’m getting better at it, and I did have my last car for a long time, so I’ve probably got to relearn some muscle memory.
You might also want to check if you are comfortable with stretching to use the central screen. I find myself doing it quite a bit to turn off the lane keeping assistance every time I start up, but I am hoping this will be more ergonomic in a future update. Overall though, I still love driving the car after a few weeks, and even friends in late model semi-luxury brands like Lexus are envious of the interior.

Hi Terry yes they did offer test drive but they only have the AWD for test drive but don't have the RWD for test drive. The HUD looks fancy and would have loved to have it but as most people are saying I may not miss it much since Navigation doesn't come on HUD anyway. Thanks for your detailed response.

I’d love to try the AWD, but I don’t think they’d let me drive it the way I would like to, and I also don’t think I probably should. I have responsibilities.
A co-worker coming from a Kia Stinger (4.7 sec to 100 km/h) tried a Performance model and ordered the Premium. His responsible response was that no one needs to go that fast.
I’d love it if they had a subscription offer for Premium buyers to get to try out a Performance model on a track every three months or so. I’d sign up.
For the record, I’m coming from a 2008 G6e Turbo that I just couldn’t justify the fuel cost (and maintenance on an old car) for a daily driver. I’m going from 5.1 to 5.7 seconds to 100 km/h and going from a car that looks like a taxi to a car that turns heads other than rev heads.
It’s way more pleasurable and quiet if less exciting to drive and I can run it more than 50% from solar energy off the roof of my house. Even the power that comes from the grid has far less impact both in my immediate area and globally than burning 11 L/100 km of hydrocarbons. I’m planning to sell the Ford to a collector and I hope they enjoy it, but it is time to move on.

There are settings for steering and brakes in the performance model which I assume would be the same as the lower tier versions. You can choose between comfort and sports. Comfort you can steer using your pinky finger, which I'm not a fan of, so I opted for the sports setting which feels moderately heavier which I prefer the feel of.
