Premium or performance

the_quass | 2024-05-10 04:51 | 8 views

Hi all, I took a premium for a drive today. It's a really nice drive with nice acceleration. There isn't a performance in my area to test so I was wondering if anyone can speak a little on how different the two are? I know all the differences in the facts and figures, I'm more interested in how the AWD handles, how the power goes getting down to the road etc? Any performance only issues etc. Thanks in advance

In Eco mode it's  very tame, almost underpowered, but I can understand what they were going for. In Normal mode it's like getting flung forward like a slingshot. It's not like getting a kick in the back, it's a  smooth but very quick buildup of thrust. In my experience it sticks to the road very well, even when turning under acceleration I haven't had any scary wheelspin moments when pulling into traffic. Haven't tried Sport mode yet, only have 500km on so I'll wait a bit longer.

Thanks buddy, I got a little loss of traction in the premium on my test drive. Going round a corner and you could feel the back wander a tiny bit.

Yep the AWD certainly helps!

Maybe the demo had had its lifetime share of flooring it in the short time, but not the same care shown in replacing the tyres. I have Premium and haven't had any issues so far. I test drove the Performance, but had a bit too much of that gut punch and felt a little sick. But something you get used to I guess? Now Premium feels normal, till I get in my ICE car and feel like a slug.

Maybe, it may have been me flooring it around a corner on a wet road. I wasn't saying it as a negative 🙂

Haha fair game mate. The other reason I went Premium is I'd lose my license too easy in Performance

This is one of the reasons I went with Premium over Performance.....AWD is all well and good until you want to have a little fun......

Tried premium, yeah the rear likes to wiggle a bit and thats the fun part of it I guess. The performance from reviews I watch online has more aggresiveness to it, yeah you can tame it in eco mode

I never test drove the premium, so can't comment.  The performance is a load of fun. Eco is super tame, Normal is punchy,  Sports mode you need to prepare yourself for the launch. The car will bite when the road is damp and the back steps out easily, but front wheels pull it straight if you let it.
