Has anyone who has installed the topbyd dash cam experienced it flattening the 12 V battery?

Another workmate has got a Seal and I ran into him in the carpark when I got to work today. He loves the car but he said he has a dashcam but hasn’t installed it yet because he had heard that it can drain the 12V battery. Is this true? I get my Seal next Friday and have a dash cam on the way but has anyone heard of the battery being drained by having a dash cam installed? I’ve had a dash cam connected to my ICE car’s cigarette lighter for years now and find it hard to believe that installing the camera could flatten my battery. Any info? I don’t want to appear on Xitter when I need a jumpstart.

Nope, not the OEM dashcam, which is available on the topBYD site as that works only when the car is turned on. I had mine since early march and no issues.

No issues, had it the whole time I've had car and no issue. It's not doing sentry Mode like Tesla BTW when car is off.

Not sure why asking a genuine question gets downvoted here, but thanks to those that replied. I only asked because I was told about it by a Seal owner without any reference and couldn’t find anything about it online.
