Error message - charging port cap not closed

I picked up my BYD seal 4 days ago and then today when I jumped in I got the error message “the cap is not closed” and “charging port cap is not closed”. Of course I checked and made sure no damage, debris, etc. Definitely closed and secure. Locked/unlocked/restarted to no avail. BYD service centre couldn’t help and asked me to bring the car in. It’s not at all close to where I live so thought I’d see if anyone here had a solution?

Disconnect and reconnect the 12 V battery for starters. Let us know if that works.

Does this just restore all the system settings to factory? Is it different from the infotainment menu option to reset? Thanks!
