Hardwiring Dashcam
As anyone hardwired their dashcam? I see a lot of discussion on the facebook groups. Some installers say it's a big warranty risk. Is there any truth to this though?

I have a dashcam hardwired in my sl7. No issues at all.
Just make sure you use a hardwiring kit that has a selectable voltage - EV cars are a lot more "sensitive" to the require battery voltage at startup Ones like this (https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/uniden-hard-wire-kit-for-smart-dash-cameras?store=202) allow you the select the cut off voltage and set it to whatever you want. The "older" types will generally has a single cut off voltage setting i.e. 11.8v - not recommend for EV
Yep done on my Seal. Small silver box in the cavity behind the USB ports of the center console. Pull back the passenger trim and then run the proprietary cable from the blue port behind the glove box, up the A pillar, along the roof liner (just tuck it in) then pull the box off behind the mirror and mount the dash cam and plug in. Make sure you plug in an SD card if you have the port or it won’t record. Restart the IVI for it to recognise it.
