I'm curious, what is it you didn't like about atto 2? it seems like it is a more refined design wise but smaller version of atto3. Did you miss the guitar strings?

I think the inside is a lot more plastic.
I am 6 foot. I feel the car is a bit short (may just be my perspective) If I push the seat all teh way back, takes up a lot of passenger leg room. (not thqt people ever sit at the back of my atto 3, is where the dogs go) (difficult now I can load them in the loan They slobber.)
The gear level on the steering level.
I simply don't like that. i'll get used to, i'l live with it, but don;t like it. Personal pref. Not a fault with the car itself. It works. Thank got I can;t put the car in reverse whole going 60!
I chose the atto3 because I still want that gear stick ;) not a big car fan, or rally driver, but I was a manual driver for 15 years before I tried my first automatic, here in AU. Never looked back Just a bit old school at 54yrs
Atto3 trim is nicer, atto 2 feels a lot more 'plastic' and less 'premium'
The atto 2 has way more pull off power in eco than the atto 3. it surprised me once and car had a really good wobble correcting. all in all, the atto3 did feel zippier/faster. Just hate the autocorrecting steering lane control, see my next little rant
The atto 2 assistant driving under cruise control (a feature I use a lot in atto3 ) is hideous. I had to disable it.
It was like I was constantly fighting the car as it keeps wanting to autocorrect, but I am well in my lane, pretty much centred. bad sensor may>? kept feeling lik I had to fight to go back to the left all the time.
There is this oen spot in the road to my house. at 5pm when the sun hits a tree, the shade falls on teh road, and looks like a persons shadow. My atto3, without fail, will slam on brakes right thee. just for a micro second, but, man it is disconcerting when it happens
The atto 3 is way better. It does not fight me as much/ or at all. just smoother.
TBH, not sure why anyone would want the ato2 over like a dolphin, but I guess is the SUV height that people like?
again, personal pref
Just like a gear tick :)
The coffee cups are nice, I give it that.
Hope that answers your question
\> Did you miss the guitar strings?
no. always wonder how long they will last
hate the atto3 centre cup holders. tey are to close to each other, coffee cups pull each other out. they catch. one nearly had hot coffee on my lap as my child pulled out he drink, and not paying attention. not something you check when buying car, but noticed it immediately in the Hyndai Kona. it had none, until you press a release button and they 'flick out' (se more on that later)
To the point I have been pondering about looking if I can print a new centre console with the cups fixed, and mount it in place (but will void warranty, and see how I now needed that!
Is like: wtf. do you guys (BYD DESIGNERS) not check these things car designers. practically is better with thing that can contain hot substances that can burn your balls when driving!
But still better than the spring loaded flip our crap the Hyundai Kuna has. holy crap. give it 6 months and those springs will be fucked. esp\[ecially with any spillage.
The one thing BYD has missed the boat on is front storage
Sorry, now I am just rambling. (PTSD issues did not get any sleep)
I also chose my atto3 over they Hyundai Kona due to the fact they had gone and put the charge port in the front bumper? Like wtf? the most crucial part of the car, to charge it, and you put it in a fucking bumper Hyundai?
It was just a simple walk away fro me on that. I might be wrong, hear how it is protected bla bla bla. Have you seen a nice hard fender bender.? and is not like it is on the lower back part of the bumper. No, it is right there and that nice curved edge that seems to be the first point of impact in any crash/fender bender. Serious. You lost a sale for that stupidity.

also, I actually like the 'dumbell' door knows. They just look soo much better than that 80's looking plastic silver door flip on teh Atto2. Looks cheap. They should have kept that as the distinguishable mark of the atto range. nice big round door handles and feels so nice under my skin
the atto 2 shape is not bad. Very compact. Just to small feeling for me, being my 6foot, and 110kg body. with 3 dogs to transport and a 13y old child. A bit small for me.
It has less of a visual blind spot to back left of passenger side, The atto 3 headrest combined with seats with the little gap to see through. Big blind spot. I don't care for a little light that flickers in my mirror, I want to see. i use it also, but I like to see. if not for that flashing light, i'd have crashed tbh. Reason being I had nearly pulled in front of someone as i was in slip road, and they had just failed in there not budging, and i did not see them at all. panel + char. Would have preferred normal headrests. not attached. also exclude a lot of generic seat covers
Sorry, you asked ;)

For what it's worth, I'm 193cm (6'3"), and I fit just fine in my Atto2, my head is a few cm clear of the ceiling, and there's enough room behind me for a normal adult. You must sit funny :)

yeah, I get this often. I think my legs are long. torso shorter stockier (or now fatter ;) ), long arms (was called a monkey in school often)
longer legs require me to sit further back else my knees knock steering column
Similar issue I had (and posted about) getting in my atto3. first few times legs in bend, whack up against the sharp corner of the outer console.
so, please, all heights are not identical mate, legs/torso/arms differ from person to person. Maybe you got shorter legs. who knows. The cabin seems cramped for me.
My head is also very clear from the ceiling. When I feel like it I may take some pics. it is just really not that important a thing in my life. Just gave it how I found it. Glad you fit. maybe best to test.
I have extremely skinny long fingered hands, and small. My hands take a medium glove. My x-mother-in-law called them sowed on hands, as they apparently they don't fit my size. My then 5.4 foot wife had bigger hands than I do. But, they look normal to me. so I don't care.
Variations in Body Proportions ("All Legs" vs. "Long Torso")
* **Different Builds:** Two people of the exact same height can have very different inseams. One person may have long legs and a short torso, while another has a long torso and shorter legs.
* **Sitting Height Ratio:** Scientists use a "sitting height ratio" to measure how much of a person's height is torso versus legs.
* **Genetic Influence:** Genetics play a massive role (60-80%) in determining these body shapes and proportions.

This mirrors my experience almost 100%. In fact I had to wonder if I'd posted my experience in a weird fever dream.
I had my Atto3 booked in at BYD Cannington yesterday for what I thought was a CV joint replacement but it turned out they needed to confirm it first (even though I mentioned it prior to the last service and they had looked at it then). So yesterday was just a diagnostic and they have now ordered the parts so I have to go back again in a couple of weeks. I'm also self employed so time off is money lost but I can kinda plan around it.
They gave me an Atto 2 for the day - quite possibly the same one you had, a white one with the "scan to book a test drive" stickers on it. I'm 6'3" and 109kg and felt it was pretty comfy for my body shape. Same impressions as you about the plastic feel and the driving experience. It seemed like it was definitely built down to a price point in a way that the Atto 3 doesn't. On the plus side, the vented seats were nice and the cup holders looked like they would be actually usable for 2 cups at a time. It grew on me the more I drove it, but I was happy to get back into my Atto 3.
Can't fault the service guys at all though. It's much better staffed than it used to be and they are all friendly and polite. Just a bit frustrating that they needed to confirm my repair again before actioning it.

I'll go check Osborne next time I need something. We did have a bit of a false start. They can be happy I made a conscious choice not to get angry. It does not help.
But, they did recover what I had considered shit technicians, don't they test their work, as I had to go back 3 times. in 4 days. Cost me a bundle on work time as well, but I WFH, so I managed to recover my time into evenings, and make up the loss.
Their recovery was to just give me the loan car without any further hassles. They did not expect me to drive my atto 3 for 8 weeks without aircon. All I wanted was a car with a working aircon.
Also no hassles to acknowledge I was sold a broken car. This did not work form day 1.
But, if you say osborne park is better, i'll go there. distance from me is negligible to either.
