Made an install video for the Sealion 7 rear light up badge

Grugly | 2026-02-16 12:51 | 22 views

Hey guys, I made an install video to help the people who were asking me on Facebook how to install the LIN module from TopBYD to get the rear badge to light up. All up takes about 20 minutes to install without the need to remove panels. First time doing a video like this so also welcome to any feedback https://youtu.be/KlGSFkjyax0

Doesn’t work in the UK LED BYD light already in place with wiring but the LIN module doesn’t do anything even with a replacement BYD LED light from Top BYD

Interesting, I wonder if there are different plugs the Lin connects into for the UK version?

Great work, thanks Grant. I've been able to install mine, took about 25 mins. Hardest part was putting the cover back on the trunk. My light doesn’t turn on when unlocking the car only when starting. Is this the way it's supposed to be?

Glad it helped! Yea, getting it back on is always the hardest part aligning the bottom clips first is my tip there. I've got the setting to turn the car on with unlock so that might be the reason it turns on for me using the unlock button?

Interesting. I have the auto on setting but it doesn't turn the car on when unlocked. The car turns on when the driver's door is opened. Is yours different? Edit: oh wait ignore what I said. It is working when I unlock.

Come to think of it, ours turns on when I open the door too.. I can get the light to turn on and off on unlock, but the light bar also plays an animation as well?

Looks like it does work. Not sure why it wasn't earlier when I unlocked the car. All good now!

Anyone in NSW installing these? Also does every 7 have this capability?

I had someone reach out to me who was going to look at doing it for people but never got back to me. The plug so far has been in everyone I have installed on so it should be safe
