When I picked up mine they said only a yearly service and they got rid of the 1km one. When you say on a lease, you still pay for it if you do extra.

The first 5k check up isn’t a thing anymore. If you got your car after September 1st you aren’t eligible for a free check up, if you got it before then you can still get it but it’s not required.

I would get something in writing from BYD to confirm.
We had new Hiluxs at work and someone went close to 2,000kms and then they called Toyota to book in the free 1,000 service. They were told if they went over 2,000 they risk their warranty.

I had a chat with BYD Mascot. I have a Seal.
They told me that for the full-electric cars they do the first service at 20,000km or 1 year.
If you are worried give them a ring.

BYD used to require a 5000km service, but they don't anymore.
When I was coming up to 5000km in mine a notification popped up to book it in for a service. I contacted BYD and they told me they don't do the 5000km service anymore, and I wasn't voiding warranty or anything by not having it done.
You can update the service interval manually in the cars settings.

Mine is three months old, but they told me that the first service is now after one year.

We picked up a BYD yesterday. In the booklet they gave us, they crossed out the 5k service and had us write it for 20k or 1 year. They then set the car to remind us at 20k.

Servicing schedule is here [Service & Warranty](https://evdealergroup-byd.com.au/service-and-warranty)
There is now no longer any 5k service (this was updated in Sep last year). BYD Sealion 7 first scheduled service is now at 20,000km or 1 Year, whichever comes first.
In the infotainment you can check when the car will give you the message for servicing, and easily change it if you need to.

We asked for that in writing and they then booked us in for a checkup after 500k

If it’s on a novated lease then you probably have to take it in for the service just to tick all the boxes.

It's one year now.

Only the BYD PHEVs still have that free initial service (5000km), the EVs have dropped it.
Makes sense I suppose.

the 1st check is free not the scheduled servicing. Typically can be completed for a EV at 3500 it's not mandatory but Plug in hybrid it's highly recommended to complete. Scheduled cap price servicing is every 20,000 Kms or 12 month intervals whatever comes first for every BYD.

It includes the oil change, software updates. Seems like a service to me.

My service invoice would suggest otherwise. I literally had it done.
