No DiSus C for the Sealion 7 Performance?

Nicoloks | 2025-12-17 00:24 | 25 views

BYD DiSus C made its way into the MY25 Seal Performance, however not the Sealion 7 Performance. On paper it would seem DiSus C would be a significant advantage to settling the float/wobble of the taller, heavier SUV. Any idea why this wasn't a thing? Anyone driven the Seal Performance & Premium (or earlier model Seal Performance) able to comment on how much a difference DiSus C has made to handling/attitude over frequency selective dampening?

What’s DiSus C?

The Seal does not have Disus C. I think you may be referring to the Chinese model.

Really? Their brochure 100% says the performance model has DiSus C. https://evdealergroup-byd.com.au/brochures/BYD-SEAL-2025.pdf I did ask the salesperson at BYD last time I was there, but they didn't seem to sure apart from the power sunshade being in the Seal refresh.

Active dampening, so will do things like stiffen or soften the suspension at each corner based on driving style and road surface. From the BYD literature it is supposed to significantly increase rise performance and handling. The standard frequency selective dampening is reactive using a mechanical system to adjust to the road surface only. Still good, but possibly contributes to the less connected driving / ride experience some reviewers mention.

Seal performance definitely has it.

25 model seal premium got the FSD from the 23 performance and the 25 performance got the Disus C. The SL (both varations) just has the regular suspension that the entry level seal has... was a large part of my decision not to get a sealion. Would have preferred a hatch tho but since getting my seal and finding i can fit my mountain bike into the sedan pretty easily it's been no biggy. plus it has much more range due to the wind resistance factor entirely. cant comment on differences in real world - there is very few reviews and none out of australian reviewers on the 25 model vs 23 model but a few from sea area
