Yup got our performance about 2 weeks back and has been good so far and echo your sentiment as well. Minor hiccup is that the carpet mats were out of stock but am still waiting for my refund at the moment as I’ve decided to source them elsewhere.

Have byd started utilising the bonnet space as a usable storage area yet, similar to the Tesla frunk? Last time I looked at BYD was the atto3 and it was essentially an empty bonnet space which seemed like a waste and missed opportunity.

I’ve owned my sl7 now since March. Apart from a tbox module hardware failure (so far been 8 weeks waiting for a replacement part) it’s been ok.

Dealership experience completely useless. Zero comms, didnt clean properly, missed tinting the windows, haven't activated app a week after pickup with no email.

My wife told me it’s because if you have audio on, radio, Spotify etc then it doesn’t cope well. Trick is to turn the volume down. Just tested it and worked no problem.

What I experienced was CarPlay would read the incoming message out fine, I would dictate a reply, and CarPlay would stutter over same. Is that the same thing your wife found?

Yes exactly that, it stutters. No longer does that either the volume down. Maybe do a test drive again and put it through its paces if you use a lot.

I reckon id get 2-300 Whatsapps a day, so its definitely important. You're finding that having the volume lower stops it stuttering when it reads back what you've dictated?

it's the telecommunications box which controls app access, OTA updates and in car navigation. Car is drivable but just a minor inconvenience. I have read that some have been offered a loaner when the module gets replaced (day job).

Hey mate, it's been a month now and I have nothing negative to report so far.
I bought floor mats from RubberTree which are probably better than the factory floor mats.
The biggest issue I have is trying to keep an eye out for speed cameras.

Test drove a Sealion performance and was mostly impressed but the throttle response meant no way would I buy it in the state the test drive vehicle was in. After lifting off accelerator the car continued to surge for a second or so. I’m hoping it’s something that has been fixed with updates

Just took mine out for a drive and tested this while I was driving.
No idea what you're on about. BYD doesn't offer single pedal driving which is what I think you might be confusing this with. You can feel the car coast when releasing the pedal, and then regen will kick in with a delay. No delayed acceleration.

The one I tested definitely kept accelerating after I lifted, tried a few times and same result. The mid spec seal that I also tested had no such issue. Good news that yours doesn’t do it, points to my theory that software updates likely fixed the issue and the test car probably not completely updated

Damn I thought it was only the shark having this failure. Maybe your extremely unlucky cause I haven’t heard of the issue on BYD vehicles other than Shark

Got my atto in 2022 and the dealers (castle hill, not the current one) were brilliant everything set up ready to drive off. Servicing has been a shitshow though with real world availability not matching the online. Had it twice where I booked a time and date only to be told 3 weeks later that it’s not possible and then offer a date a month or so from the time they contacted me.

Just sideload the apps you want, BYD operating system is much nicer than AA or CarPlay
