I was told tinting roof glass is not recommended for all cars because they may break during hot days. Installer said they’ve never seen one failing but they follow the guidelines anyway. It’s not BYD specific though. Don’t know how true this is.

I’m using Wallbox Pulsar Plus with smart meter so only charges using excess solar. Also it’s not a bulky unit like many others.

Cars are being delivered with version 2506 Oem dash cams are now working with units purchased from places like nicebyd. I would still go with an aftermarket unit though. I use a VIOFO dual camera on mine.

Congrats on the SL7 order! for tint, aftermarket shops can handle windows + moonroof, just double checkj if they have experience with EV. Maintenance allowance – $40/month sounds light. I’d suggest confirming with your provider what’s covered, as services on BYD tend to be spaced out but can add up

1. I don’t have a home charger yet, but was told the Tesla is a good one for the price that also looks good. 2. Still trying to pick a dash cam myself. 3. Our dealer offered tint for $495 but it was only the front windows. I went to Tint-a-car and got the darkest legal on the fronts, UV/heat rejecting clear film on the backs and rear windshield. Tint-a-car offers a film that will go on the outside of the moon roof, I think it’s a “self healing” ceramic type product. I was quoted $895 for this. Honestly just shut the roof during the middle of the day, it’s too hot and bright anyway. 4. I don’t recall what my amount for maintenance was.

1. We went with the Tesla Gen 3 charger. It was pretty cheap at about $700 from Bunnings but notably it does not have any solar integration (you get what you pay for). This didn't bother me as I just knocked the charge rate down to 15Amps which pulls around 4.8kW (including the house load) on our 5Kw solar system and charges the car at about 3.8kW (4%/hr). We also use the cars charging timer so it only charges during the day as that suits our needs. You'll need a dedicated supply from your switchboard and a 32A RCBO. We had the charger set to 30A which charged the car at about 6.8kW but was way over our solar production. Expect to pay around $500 for install. You can also get EV Tarrifs from your electricity supplier to charge between 12am and 6am for 8c/kW which is pretty decent. 2. I plan on installing the dashcam from our last car. It's a 2 camera FineView and pretty decent quality for the price. I have one in my work ute as well. You can get them from dashcamsaustralia.com.au Hopefully it'll work. 3. We had all the glass tinted with a mid range ceramic tint. Front windows are 35%, rear glass is 75%, moonroof is 5%, and a front strip across the top of the windscrean with 5%. It's made a huge difference in the Queensland sun. It was $580 for the windows, $300 for the moonroof, and $100 for the windscrean strip ($980 total) 4. No idea.
