Questions regarding byd 7

Dense-Barber | 2026-03-07 19:44 | 27 views

Hello fellas :) I got a few questions. Sorry in advance for not knowing the exact translations for the byd system names. Everytime i start up my car i have to manually turn off the buttons for: - driver survelliance system - intelligent speed recognition - "baby left alone in car"-sensor Is it possible to turn these off permanently? And is there a more clever way to open the funk then then the standard one? Apperciate any help!

Unfortunately, you have to turn it off manualy everytime. It probably can get coded like in other cars, but not sure.

Just buy a cheap plastic cover on temu that goes over the driver surveillance system. I turned off the one that beeps when you go over the speed limit and it has stayed off.

It takes like 2 seconds to turn it off, just use the shortcuts bar: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VzWrOoVzoec](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VzWrOoVzoec) I have a shortcut for heating mirrors / rear window close by and heating wheel so in the autumn - winter - spring time i practically press those 4 right away = to turn off TSR, Lane Assist, to turn on mirrors + wheel (this can be turned on together with seats - which is my next step after starting the car, so you can have 1 more shortcut here): https://preview.redd.it/5d1mrrokkong1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8159795822fedfbd2a47de26f7dc60772e85eb60 If the Lane Assist is OFF ... autopilot still works. I also have a shortcut for high beams as i hate them, practically drive only on Normal lights as the range is great anyway, but if i need High beam (highway) - that's the best way to activate it - through shortcut, it's really hard to find it at night on stalk (manual - auto lights).

welcome to my hell. yes, you cannot turn them off forever. You have to do through this routine every time you start a car.

I think the speed limit warning is region specific. In Europe it’s mandated that the damn thing is enabled on every drive, you have to turn it off manually every time.

Speed recognition can't be turned off permanently (although you can set a shortcut), it annoyed the hell out of my when I first got the car. It's completely broken when it comes to Japanese speed limits, firstly because a lot of the roads don't have signs (the road type has a default) so it doesn't know what the limit is, and secondly because it's customary to drive 10km/h over the speed limit and driving under it constitutes a nuisance. Turning the sound down mostly fixes it, and that can be done permanently. The car just occasionally beeps softly with pleasure. The flashing symbol really bothered me and I thought about making a sticker to put over it but after about 5000 km I became completely blind to it. I actually wondered if it had stopped displaying and I had to actively look for it to check, otherwise my brain completely blocks it out. Reposting what I've said on a previous thread about the baby-in-car alarm: > On the child presence sensor, the solution is to turn on `Autopower on` / `Autopower off` which effectively synchronizes "I am in the car" with "the car is powered on" and never again leave the car in a situation where there are humans inside but it's powered off. Powering off the car when you're not driving it is an old habit from ICE cars where you can't have the A/C on unless you're either burning fuel or flattening the battery. You don't need to put an EV in this state and the car gets freaked out about it because it thinks its meat cargo might be insufficiently refrigerated.

I've searched Temu for hours without finding the camera cover. Do you have a link?

Thank you, but that's ridicules! I'm not paying $14 plus $18 shipping and handling for a tiny piece of plastic. And even if I did, they refuse to sell outside Australia 😶

saviour01 2026-03-08 11:08

Ok, doesn't bother me in the slightest.

You can 3d print it yourself. Or ask someone, still cheaper than what it's listed on etsy for

VikingOy 2026-03-08 14:40

Yes, but in order to do that I need an exact drawing with measurements.

There's plenty of free ones out there. I'm using this one and it worked like a charm first try: https://www.printables.com/model/1291840-byd-sealion-7-cover-for-dpms-driver-assist-system
