Charge at different times on different days?

Reddits_Worst_Night | 2026-03-04 06:53 | 23 views

I want to charge midnight to 6am Tuesday, then I want to charge if plugged in between 8am and 3pm on any day of the week to take advantage of my solar. Is there a way to do this through the BYD app?

You can set a charging schedule in the car. Not sure about the app.

Yes, but you can't charge at different times on different days, which I want to.

You'll need to remove the scheduled charge in app. Note though you will need to stop the charge manually at 3pm.

I use a 16A smart plug running esphome and my home runs home assistant. It will enable the plug when there is sufficient solar and will turn it off if there is a consistent lack of solar. What you don't want is for it to flap on and off. When the car negotiates the charge once the charger is on it then has a relay to connect the actual power through and this can wear out. For this reason I will only turn off the plug if there is 20 minutes solid of insufficient solar and have some logic around how likely it will turn back on again.
