Byd vs us car companies

byd needs to come to the USA and show the USA EV market who's boss
The US EV market has already seen “who’s boss”.
Ohhh who's the boss?👀
It is a little difficult with 100% tariffs on Chinese imports
BYD is already in the US selling busses. They could open a factory there for cars and still show the US how to do it.
In the current political climate would you, as a Chinese company, want to spend a couple billion opening new plant in the USA. The current administration isn't known for its longer-term stability

The trouble with that, is that BYD relies on significant vertical integration. They make all their own parts. So either they have to set up a significant supply chain in the US, or import a load of parts from China and be subject to tariffs. Not saying that it can't happen, but its a significant investment. And given how hostile the US political/business environment is to Chinese companies, I understand why they wouldn't bother with the US when there is other markets they could be pushing into.
