Hey all, Picked up the Sealion 7 last week in the UK and really enjoying it so far. I’ve hit a couple of roadblocks and would appreciate some advice: 1. Apple CarPlay & user profiles My wife and I both use Apple CarPlay. A few times she’s tried to navigate and realised it’s connected to my phone instead of hers. Is there a proper way to manage this? Do we need to switch user profiles in the car, or is there a better setup to make sure it defaults to the right phone? 2. Radio not resuming after calls Sometimes we’re listening to the radio, a call comes through, and when the call ends the radio doesn’t resume. I can’t seem to find a clear radio button to get back to it. The only workaround so far is using the BYD assistant to play it again, which works but makes changing stations awkward. 3. When am driving and I have radios station as favorites stored, when I want to move to the next station it doesn’t do that and find the next frequency Am I missing something obvious? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

CarPlay only connects to the last connected user. Doesn’t seem to have a way to set preference. So I will usually click on the CarPlay icon to select if we’re both in the car and it was not connected to me. Not sure about Radio since I don’t use it.

Problem #2 seems like a bug. I have a similar issue where if I turn off the car mid-call (usually whatsapp call), the next time I jump in the car Spotify will refuse to play. This requires disconnecting and reconnecting AA. The software is buggy, and I mention this to people by saying BYD's software feels like its only 80% complete.

No.1 has been around for a long time (regardless of the infotainment system) and Apple doesn’t have a way (yet) to navigate around this.

Wireless CarPlay has this problem in every car, I believe. Neither Apple nor the vehicle manufacturers seem to realise that multiple people, with different phones, might drive cars. I wouldn't expect a fix here any time soon, to be honest. Teslas have a feature whereby you can set a Bluetooth device (they don't have CarPlay, obviously) to be the "priority" device that's associated with a driver profile, but it's still a complete crapshoot when you get in the car whether it'll actually work, or whether it'll connect to the passenger's phone instead. This is the one area where wired CarPlay / Android Auto is a much cleaner experience.

Number 2 is a known issue or simply a characteristic of the cars operating system. If you have car play / android auto connected and receive or make a call, as soon as you end it, dab is off. To me, the logic seems to be that DAB and Carplay are two separate sources. You're listening to DAB, you use the phone, so it switches source to Carplay, when you end the call or stays on that source. It's a pain but two workarounds are 1 listen to radio via an app on Carplay. Annoying, but it works. 2 Use the mode button on the right hand side of the steering wheel to change source.

Number 1 is something I wish BYD would fix. Yes it’s a very annoying limitation that the next user always has to manually connect to Apple car play. Coming from a BMWx3 it was a smooth transition to the next user. Also I wish each key has its set driver set preference instead of Manually selecting your seat adjustment each time you enter the car. Annoying lack of feature by BYD number 2 I definitely haven’t come across. I have had mine since Nov 2025 and never experienced it.
