Android app not refreshing in the background?

I'm trying to get the app to refresh the data in the background but it doesn't seem to work. The widget on 2 phones just refuses to refresh the SoC/range. I have to manually open the app before the widget refreshes. This happens on a Xiaomi 15 and on a Galaxy S25, with all battery saving disabled and background auto-start active. My Polestar would sync every 30 minutes or so, can the BYD app do the same or is it only manual?
