Home Charging

HI folks, I have just ordered my new company car a BYD Seal. What is the best home charger to use (UK) please ? I am with Octopus Energy and their Ohme Home Pro would be the easiest option, but I was wondering what you guys had installed and might be better? Thanks in anticipation, Jase. Autos & Vehicles

I’ve been using the ohme for a few years now on an iD3,mg4 and just changing to BYD. We are on solar with battery storage and on intelligent go which is excellent. Ohme are good at after sale backup. I had an original Ohme home which developed a fault. Turned out after they sent an installer to check it the rccd breaker was faulty but they offered me an upgrade to the home pro as well . Integration with octopus intelligent go is fine . Automotive Industry

Very useful, thanks. Are you using the Ohme Home Pro?

I'm using the Ohme Home Pro with Intelligent Octopus. No issues, everything works well. My first EV was a Renault Megane, and Ohme could link to the Renault API to see what the car's current charge level was, so it knew how much to top up. With the Seal, it can't link to the BYD API (yet) so I have to set what amount of charge I want. But, as the Seal can be charged to 100% every time I just tell Ohme that I want 100% additional charge and the car just stops charging when it's full.
