Dog Mode

numl0ck3r | 2026-02-10 07:52 | 22 views

Hello fellow byd owners. Im now a dog owner and i have a sealion 7. I know it doesn’t have a dog mode like a tesla, so what’s the optimized way to put it in ‘dog mode’ while you’re out and about? Thanks

put a note on your dash and then manually set everything, such as cpd.... it's a joke they haven't added this across the board

Yeah remember to turn off cpd it’s caught me a couple of times and then have the ac running etc. wish there was a quick mode

Another thing where BYD is behind the competition...  I just leave the car running and lock it when I leave..

Which otherwise is nice and dandy but I hate that the car honks when I do that

Put the car in demo mode

when you lock it? yeh, slightly annoying... not as annoying as having to turn off CPD, and then FCTB when you want to go again...

Jebpro 2026-02-10 11:10

That’s true as well. I’m so afraid to put anything on the backseats I mostly keep the seats down to avoid the CPD going off while I’m at the store lol

sometimes i wont bother turning it off at all, for instance if im going to run into a store for 5 or 10 mins, dog or not... so the once off horn ("Hey you left me on") is actually a welcome confirmation that its doing what i expect... unlike the faulty boot closure buttons which i guess have a 20% miss rate, making me look like a real wanker walking away from the car only to leave the boot up...

Lock car, use app on phone to activate aircon and set time via app Don;t use the fob. The diff The fob activates the car fully. So 'ignition' is on, and car can be driven away. (smash window, drive away), even without key in car (tested, minus smashed window)) Using the app, only activates the aircon, so car itself is still off and cannot be driven Get one of the 3rd party sentinel apps. just search, you will find them, so you can remote monitor. Use a sign. I still have people trying to open my car, on not even hot days, to 'save the dogs'. They are simply looking for a good 'look how I saved a dog' social media posts. that's what it is all about.

Doesn't get super hot here so I just leave the windows half down when I lock and walk away if I lock it at all. You mess with the 80 pound apex predator in the back seat at your own peril...

yeah, sounds like a super responsible approach /s

Or maybe they legitimately want to stop dogs being baked in hot cars? Honestly this obsession that people have with genuine acts being 'virtue signalling' and nothing more is fucking idiotic. There ARE actually genuinely good people, who dont want to see animals or humans harmed. Dogs have died in cars. Children have died in cars. You might not give a shit, but thats on you. The world is a better place if people do care.
