Dealer unable to handover new car

In December I ordered Seal U DM-i Comfort, I was supposed to take it over from them last Friday (6.2.) came to the dealership and was told that the car is not ready for handover, apparently some issue with 12v battery that it needs to be replaced. Later I was told that the battery is fine it's just some software issue that may sometimes occur when 12v battery goes flat during transport but it takes longer to resolve. I was supposed to take the car today but I was now told that the battery and related stuff is resolved but it is taking longer than usual to update the software and that they will be able to handover the car tomorrow. I'm getting pretty desperate. Hope the car will be fine and I won't need to go to servis with it every week because of some software glitch that will riddle my car for the rest of it's life. Anyone here with similar experience? Is your car without issues? Thanks for all replies

Weird. Left my Seal U to perform a major software version update in a supermarket carpark, while I shopped. Software update has never taken more than 30 minutes - been through 3 since getting mine in June 2025. My feeling is they’re screwing you about because they forgot / haven’t had time.

Thanks for replying, that's what I read/heard that it takes max about 1 hour for those ota updates. After I take the car I will never go there again. Worst experience ever

Dealers don't do it via OTA. They have OBD tester and they need to download the software updatemanually beforehand. Maybe they are not really experienced with this method and "try to figure it out"?

Possible, BYD came to our market less then year ago and first "real" dealership was opened only couple months ago. But still I expected a bit more
