all talk and no show from BYD, they are exporting their cars around the world and yet it still has their old battery tech of 1st gen LFP batteries in them while the rest of the chinese car manufacturers are supplying the latest tech in battery in their cars.
whats the point of vertical integration if they cannot keep up with the market?

Cost, it's all about reducing cost

37 minutes (or even more) from 10 - 80 percent is a lot, and the main reason i am looking at other ev's

What Chinese car companies are using newer battery technology than BYD?

BYD are the world's largest volume supplier of EV's and second most profitable (behind Tesla).
That is the point.

Pretty much everyone, Zeekr, chery, Jetour, others too

Your point is valid too. Supplying old battery tech in their EV's to people who are most likely first time buyers is the point I am trying to make

battery tech is irrelevant. we are well past the starry-eyed technophile stage. These cars are being bought in volume by ordinary folks who don't give a shit as long as it is cheap and does the job.

I think it's going to become a big surge. The technology's nearly there.

Faster charging, longer range, lesser weight, more fire safety... is not relevant to you?

I agree ofcourse, although BYD has since quite a some time dragging their feet in getting the battery technology they develop out the door.
All their cars selling abroad even today use the 1st Gen LFP while everyone else moved over a year ago to 2nd Gen. Many reviewers have even said that BYD is lagging 1 to 2 years behind in not only battery tech but tech in general

Exactly. I'm buying my second BYD when we get the Blade II battery. Hopefully in the updated seal.

You received the Blade Gen 2 battery in your car? Which model and which country?

But not cheaper.
santz007

Definitely cheaper too if scaled the way their LFP gen 1 is scaled.

I hear you, but Blade Battery tech is the safest in the industry.
If you need frequent fast charging, you should definitely get this tech - but most people go to work and come home, so home charging is enough.

Why people taking the piss here and not buying other cars that have the batteries they prefer? Come on, buy them other cars, stop whining here

not personally no. I do not drive more than 20km a day and sometimes not at all. They are criteria that commentards huff and puff about. People walking into a car yard want to know if it's reliable, can carry the people & stuff they want, and is cheap to buy and run.

No, it's not available yet. I'm going to wait until we can get the newer battery technology before I buy my second BYD. It doesn't look like the Atto 3 Evo has the new battery or that's not confirmed yet.
