Awesome info!! Thanks

kevin_2505 2026-02-06 22:50

Hopefully they add unlocking with Galaxy/Pixel watch soon too (with NFC)

Psychlonuclear 2026-02-06 23:01

Cool! What country is this? Haven't got the update in Australia yet.

WinterBarnacles 2026-02-06 23:29

Sweet. How does this work with respect to logins and phones and things? Currently the app will only allow one person to be logged in at a time. Can you work around it with this? ie is the setup * It's an extension of the phone of the person wearing it and they have to be logged in * It's an independent login and if you're logged in on your phone it'll log you out * It's a separate thing and it can be connected at the same time as any phone, so my wife could be connected to the car on her watch while I'm connected on my phone

CBlackstoneDresden 2026-02-06 23:42

I have it in New Zealand in iOS.

CBlackstoneDresden 2026-02-06 23:45

Can’t you add her email so she has a separate account? There’s an “authorisations” section on the app.

Wooba99 2026-02-07 00:33

I have an atto 3 and Samsung Galaxy in Australia. Just installed it on my oppo watch..

ParanoidAndroidMV 2026-02-07 01:31

You can open the car and control the AC too. Just used mine o GW8 to go to gym without keyfob, opening the car through the watch app (it's risky to loose connection, I know, but I was not far from home).

WinterBarnacles 2026-02-07 01:42

I don't have an authorizations section, maybe it's country-specific? Japan seems to be very slow at getting features, we only just got the ability to schedule charging from the phone a month or so ago. Allegedly it's a regulatory thing, the transport ministry here is really paranoid that all our cars are going to get hacked. (But I already have the smart watch feature on the app.)

CBlackstoneDresden 2026-02-07 02:30

It could be. I do know at work we’re also very careful about rolling out features to Japan. I’m on a software development team and Japan is the only country whose country rep we are on a first name basis with.

Nice, it's come through now.

John24ssj2 2026-02-07 05:51

That's what I got 2 weeks ago on my dolphin, I can now unlock with NFC on my pixel 10

kyrvch 2026-02-07 06:18

Still disappointed cause they havent released the NFC unlocking via GWs which is available in China for several months already.

timgriffinau 2026-02-07 06:23

As others confirmed - I'm in Australia

Dark_84 2026-02-07 08:56

Spain. Galaxy 25+ got the update. Still no app for galaxy watch 7. Dolphin doesn't have the option to use the phone as nfc key....

SantiGutierrez1970 2026-02-07 08:56

Not risky at all. Your watch connects to the car through Bluetooth, no need to have cellular signal.

Educational_Buy1012 2026-02-07 16:59

On my Apple Watch, I'm having trouble getting the QR code to pair with the iPhone app. Is anyone else experiencing this? https://preview.redd.it/wd5bf8ujs3ig1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=feebbf4ff0d82721e99c0c5662f135c8974f1175

rapelbaum 2026-02-07 19:05

ParanoidAndroidMV 2026-02-08 01:42

Actually, it connects through LTE and not bluetooth. So, if you park you car on a place without signal, you won't be able to open it again through the watch. That's why we still need NFC, like Apple Watches do.

REVERENDO75 2026-02-09 14:26

sorry how? i have samsung S23Ultra with digital key on samsung wallet, but i don't see it on my galaxy 7 wallet

REVERENDO75 2026-02-09 14:27

we hope to have nfc on galaxy watch soon

SantiGutierrez1970 2026-02-09 20:47

If you are near your car, your watch connects using Bluetooth, not cellular data. If you are far from your car, then your watch will use cellular data.

John24ssj2 2026-02-09 21:20

Sorry I use Google wallet and not the Samsung one, really not sure how it works on Samsung phones

seydg 2026-02-09 22:53

Got it working in Mexico on Galaxy Watch Classic 6 / S23 Ultra. It can lock, unlock, start and show information. It's pretty good. Anyone knows if it needs my phone to bridge connection to the car? Or does it connect remotely via BT when close? I couldn't make it work with NFC. Has anyone made it work with NFC on Samsung?

ParanoidAndroidMV 2026-02-09 23:56

Do you have the source of that information?

Grievery 2026-02-10 15:41

Hmm, at least on my Apple Watch and iPhone, I can’t get past the QR code part (it says ”no data found” when trying to scan the code) EDIT: Thanks to another commenter, I was able to get it working by using the BYD iPhone app’s internal smartwatch QR scanner.

Grievery 2026-02-10 15:44

THANK YOU!

rapelbaum 2026-02-10 16:35

You are welcome Bro !

Previous_Resolution7 2026-02-12 10:15

Same. I was happy that i finally can use my GW to remote byd but unfortunately NFC capability is not yet possible. Thats disappointing. I am excited about just putting my arm on the console to start the car.

Fictitious-Fighter75 2026-02-16 12:57

there’s a Shortcut for “open boot” voice command — anyone know what model(s) this works for? no joy with Seal (Aus), unlocking car works though.

SantiGutierrez1970 2026-02-19 21:27

I use it that way! It’s my own experience!

ParanoidAndroidMV 2026-02-20 00:31

Do you use Apple Watch or Galaxy Watch? I'm asking because I use Galaxy and couldn't replicate that.

SantiGutierrez1970 2026-03-01 19:25

I’m using Apple Watch

ParanoidAndroidMV 2026-03-01 21:39

On Apple Watch, you are using NFC to unlock the car, by placing it on the side mirror. That's not what this watch app does. It unlocks the car through WiFi, like the phone app does. Edit: none of these use Bluetooth, especially on how insecure that protocol is.
