Screen behaviour in reverse gear

Has anyone already noticed that when in reverse gear the screen locks to the cameras and the buttons bar stops working? I discovered this when trying to adjust the air conditioning fan while in reverse, the buttons on the screen do not work. So I have to complete the maneuver put it into drive and then adjust it. Is this the expected behaviour? for the driver to not lose focus on the maneuver? Of course I tried it when stopped waiting for the house gate to open. My vehicle is the Dolphin Mini (seagull or surf).
