Issues with Android auto

Hi community, I recently bought a new phone and, not sure if I did something, but when I get in the car, my phone connects to the car's Wi-Fi and, because of that, I have no access to the internet. This means Android auto wont work, nor can I connect to the internet in my phone; unless I deactivate the Wi-Fi on my phone and automatically disconnects from Android Auto. Has anyone had a similar experience or have a solution? It's driving me crazy, I have reset the network on my phone, forget network and everything and still cant use AA. Thanks for any tips.
