BYD Dolphin delivery time to Australia

I ordered mine from the Melbourne CBD dealership on 5 April, and picked it up 1 May; so about three-and-a-half weeks. That was a few months ago though, so probably not indicative of current delivery times.

I ordered mine knowing there was stock in NSW, so only had to wait a bit over 1 week

Yeah sounds like this time of year there’s a bit of a wait, hopefully around this time in Jan for the both of us.

Oh nice, we held out to save more money and were hoping they would have a Black Friday offer for the dolphin but nothing for people paying cash unfortunately.

i personally was told the same month and i ordered back in october. i swapped to a demo. the date they have given of maybe jan = when it arrives in australia. i got told this through my byd dealer. it then has to go through customs etc, get delivered to the dealership… it could definitely get to you buy jan… but probably more closer to feb/latest march

I have ordered a premium in Atlantis Grey - order placed in mid October. Was initially told November/December, now appears to be January. Just depends upon what colour you want. This is some information/comments I got today from my dealer: BYD are experiencing delays in shipping currently and are still awaiting Dolphins to land in country to be able to allocate them to outstanding orders. I do apologise for this extended wait; we have checked again with Stock Control in case there was a hidden vehicle in Australia we could get for you but unfortunately there is no Atlantis Grey Stock available. We do have a Two-Tone Harbour Grey+Ski White Dolphin Premium Available if you did not want to wait any longer. Unfortunately, if you did want to wait, BYD Australia have informed us this may push in to January for allocation.

Hmm true, that’s what I ordered as well. Oh well, will be a good test of patience. Hopefully a bunch will arrive in January.

So we picked up ours today. We had the VIN the week of Xmas, but with all the various holidays, it was not ready till today.

Forgot to reply to this, we got a call Christmas Eve from the dealer saying that someone else wasn’t able to take delivery of theirs as they were overseas and asked if we wanted an early Christmas present. Skipped a whole part of the process and got it just under a month which is nuts. So happy with it, been so much fun to drive. How about y’all?

Yes finally picked up ours last weekend. Was well worth the wait. Love it.
