Dolphin screen full of orange icons at first frost.

We love our Dolphin Design of 8 months ownership. However I was a little disturbed when I drove home last night after leaving the car outside for a couple of hours in -1°C. The demisting worked well, the seat worked well then suddenly all the icons for anything intelligent went orange. The automatic headlights also stopped working which annoyed a few oncoming drivers. I stopped the car when safe to do so and rubbed the front sensors and camera which helped a bit, but I had to manually control the headlights. Has anyone else had this and have a strategy to deal with it? I guess having a cleaning rag is one way. I did try turning off the automatic headlights whilst first driving but not having checked I thought it would be next to automatic on the control stalk, not the other side of off. That was scary as everything went dark. Thanks for reading.

Yeah, everything in the Dolphin (at least) uses the camera that is located in the mirror at the center of the car. That part tends to get quite frosty and REALLY hard to defrost. Even more when defrosting actually just has the full zone full of water, which doesn't work either. I personally do not have a solution to that issue yet. You can still drive safely, but most ADAS systems will be turned off automatically. At least the car tells you, in my older Ford, there was no notification when the systems were off...

I had this happen a few days ago. I found blasting the windscreen with high fan and heat for ~5mins cleared all the amber lights and they didn’t reappear for the 2 hour drive. A single tap of the front windscreen button should solve it.

my guess is a sensor condensation issue, seems to be a issue for a lot of people with various BYD cars.
