Servicing

I bought my BYD Dolphin Comfort last February and was told it was 12 months or 12,000 miles for 1st service. As I was coming up to 12 months I rang the nearest dealer who told me it was now 24 months or 20,000 miles. Does anyone know if this is correct? My car keeps telling me periodically to go immediately to BYD Maintenance which is a bit disconcerting. Am I supposed to just ignore this? Hatchbacks
