Open and check your front trunk after driving in heavy rain

Hi, guys I noticed that after washing my Dolphin, a little of water gets in my front trunk. Not a big deal... BUT.. It's been raining in where I live. The other day, after driving in heavy rain for about 30 mins, I was curious whether the rain would get in the front trunk or not. It turns out, when I open the front trunk, the whole thing was wet... tubes, wires and all components in the front trunk ...they were wet. * I close the trunk properly

The engine compartment for an ICE car would be no different, the front hood is not weather sealed. All components in the car should be sealed and water resistant. If water is pooling up anywhere steel then that could be a problem long-term. There won't be much in the front hatch of the Dolphin, mostly reservoirs for fluids, a 12V battery, and some low voltage wiring & boxes for fuses & electronics, A bigger potential issue would be driving through floodwater, especially saltwater/briny floodwaters. Submerging the car battery could leave water pooled up where it won't do any good, and saltwater is terrible on the modest corrosion treatment on BYD vehicle 's steel. Autos & Vehicles
