Does anyone know if there are any plans to make this aid less aggressive? Also a software update to allow the harsh bleep to be permanently turn off, instead of having to do it every time the car is turned on? Autos & Vehicles

This is an update to my earlier post. I processed an OTA update on Thursday and amongst other revisions to the cars software, the update has completely cured the Emergency Lane Keeping Assist problem. The car no longer jerks the steering wheel around and the associated and very annoying screech has been silenced!! So a big thank you to BYD for fixing this!

Sorry, I don’t know. I’m in Bedfordshire. A message popped up on the screen a couple of weeks ago telling me there was a software update available. You can check for updates if you go to the software page on the infotainment screen. When you do download an update you get a warning that you won’t be able to drive the car until it has finished downloading. I didn’t pay attention to the warning, thinking it wouldn’t take long and was stuck in a supermarket car park for 45 minutes before I could move the car!!

This is a problem for me in Dublin Ireland also. My wife gets quite disturbed by the "violent jerk" of the lane assist when it inappropriately decides that one is too close to an edge or line She turns it off each time she powers the car on, but it would be good if one had the choice as to how sensitive or aggressive it could be in the settings. Otherwise the car is great,,,,one exception is the Dashcam is disabled in Ireland....cannot figure why?? Byd Atto3 Design Red is very nice. Have done 11,500km since June last
