Atto 3 - 2507 Update

lasiru | 2026-01-18 09:31 | 35 views

Does anyone else having issues with the audio quality with this update? I believe this update is causing the speakers to be “out of phase” thus causing a widened audio field and lack of bass compared to 2503.

You guys have 2507?

Well I managed to flash it via a firmware package and immediately downgraded due to the apparent audio quality issue (currently in 2503)

This is not the issue that you can set the stereo field and by default it's in the middle of the car? When that happened with an earlier update, I had to set the stereo field to the front of the car, and that fixed the issue at the time.

Unfortunately no, I’m an audiophile (my fault) it’s very easy to tell when the speakers are out of phase. It’s a simple fix if it’s allowed to be done but BYD doesn’t let us change phases in the speakers.

I have the 2507 on ATTO 2 Comfort, no audio problems.

mine is on 2506, the bass is gone, even when maxing out the EQ

Yeah definitely speakers are out of phase. I just wanted to confirm. I’m currently looking for a solution.

yes, the sound field is too wide now, like listening to binaural audio. switching between Dirac and Live doesn't make a difference. the Loudness Normalisation toggle doesn't work also. 2 things i can think of: 1. wait until the next update to see if BYD has rectified the issue. 2. get an car audio specialist to rewire the speakers to be in phase. i'm sticking with no. 1 because it's going to be a waste of money if i did no. 2 and the next update rectifies the issue.

Yeah definitely don’t get it rewired. I’ll let you all know if I manage to change phases via the menu system for the service personnel. I’m sure there are some DSP settings.

We got ours back from service yesterday. I noticed the same thing. I think they overcompensated for previous complaints that bass was too muddy and boomy.  I had just used room eq and mini dsp mic to tune the eq a week ago and now need to do it all over again. By ear the best I could do thus far is : Live stage on Loudness on Eq the low range way up and then basically a linear drop for the sliders left to right. Then for audio position I put it a bit forward and to the passenger side and that seemed to help the balance  Personally I don’t hate the new config it does sound cleaner for music now than it used to but I haven’t tested with podcasts. When I get a chance to measure the phase with room eq ill try to remember to post my findings

Please do, I don’t have to scientifically identify phase as I’m coming to my conclusions by ear. I’m still trying to gain access to the DSP of the car.

Okay that’s great to hear, is this an Australian variant?

EU

I'm having the exact same issue. I had my car serviced in Werribee ( Vic.) and the Infotainment system was updated. The sound quality has degraded badly and no amount of adjusting EQ or anything else has put it back to the quality it was.

The only option now (that I’ve found) is to downgrade to 2503.
