Byd atto 3 - Ac usage

How long can you keep the ac on in the Atto 3 without driving … can I sit in the car for 2 or 3 hours with the Ac on ? Any issues ?

why would there be any issues?

you could sit there for 20 or 30 hours if you wanted. (assuming the battery was charged)

Just had a doubt after sitting in the car with the ac for over 2 hours for the first time .

I live in FNQ, currently average temp is 34c with 90% humidity. When my Atto 3 is stationary with the A/C running the car is using 1-2 kW depending on A/C fan speed. As others have stated, you should be good to sit for many hours with just the A/C on.

We had a blackout in August that lasted over 18 hours. I hung out in the car that evening and slept in it. In all I kept the Aircon on for about 11 hours and spent about 9% of the battery.

I live in the UK and hate the AC to be honest. It’s winter at the moment but also found it annoying in prior seasons. It feels like you have a choice between cold (either off completely or lo temp) or it being actually quite hot from 18c onward. I’ve tried experimenting with the air circulation settings, ‘AC’ within the temperature settings being on/off, different fan positions, screen de-mist only etc but still nearly always feel I’m oscillating between feeling either too cold or too hot and constantly needing to fiddle. Having it off when it was slightly warmer than it is now was more tolerable temperature wise but then the windscreen just kept steaming up! Essentially I’ve only felt like I’m able to maintain a consistently comfortable cabin temp on journeys more than 10 mins when it’s either the height of summer heat or depths of winter chill. Otherwise I have to constantly be adjusting to extremes or have my screen misting up. Very frustrating tbh.

my Atto 2 boost consumes 1-2 kw per hour, the battery is 45 kw so fully charged I could stay like a day inside with the AC at 24 degrees (once the car reaches temperature, 20 minutes at worst)

You can do it if you want. What issues are you expecting?

Overheating of battery and something adverse happening . But I was in the car with the ac on for 4 hrs . No issues

The Atto battery can push150kw from to the main motor. 1kw of Air Con is a tiny load. It will do it for days.
