Anyone experience with V2L with Atto 3 in europe?

Mo2sync | 2026-01-09 13:21 | 30 views

I just bought an V2L adapter over amazon, but its not working. It fits perfect, but no power at all :/ Anything I need to consider? (Of course the usb c charger is just for testing)

Do you need to enable it in the screen in the power section?

I have one and use it sometimes. It's the original V2L cable ingot with the car though. Works by plugging it in, not much else as far as I remember

the car didnt ship with a v2l adaptor? southeast asian markets ship with a byd branded one, it allows v2l to happen as you plug in. ask your dealer, i feel like thats standard equipment?

Mine looks similar. After opening the adapter, i found a faulty connection of one of the cables to the socket.

Works fine, I’ve got a V2L directly and one with an extension cord and 3 sockets. I use it sometimes to drill or vacuum the car. Or near the garage. Car needs to be on though… it’s raining currently so I’m able to check ;-)

It’s not standard, it’s enabled on all models only the adapter comes with the higher tier models as standard. You can just get an aftermarket one.

ProfessionalOnion316 2026-01-09 13:50

huh, very odd. no clue why byd europe doesnt have it standard, pretty sure the sea market has it in the boot for both the dynamic and premium

If your car didn’t cone with V2L, then you need to enable it with VDS (diagnostic tablet from BYD) in order for it to work

Mo2sync 2026-01-09 14:44

No havent received one

Mo2sync 2026-01-09 14:44

Couldnt find any suitable option

Mo2sync 2026-01-09 14:45

So just Turn on the car, plug the v2l Adapter in and it works? No confirmation on screen or similar?

Mo2sync 2026-01-09 14:46

Oh really? Are you sure about? Havent received any adapter with the car

LoGiX247 2026-01-09 14:52

The Design Edition at launch were out of stock, I’ve picked up mine 2 weeks after I’ve gotten the car. That’s the version with the big screen. That should include the v2l 3 socket. The single one like you got is aftermarket afaik

Mo2sync 2026-01-09 15:11

thanks, than something is wrong with my adapter or whatever

Mo2sync 2026-01-09 15:13

oh wow, and after reconnecting it just works as expected?

BurnerBowie 2026-01-09 15:19

Yes. Give your local dealership a call. They should be able to enable it

Can you give me the brand/type so I can buy one (I was seeing a lot of them but didn’t trust until I had some kind of “human” review/opinion) ? I’ve asked the dealer and for the cable they gave me a quotation off 500€ for it (Go Portugal 🇵🇹! 🙄)…

nunorsilva19 2026-01-09 15:34

I just bought a byd atto 3 in Portugal and I got the adapter included.

Kry0h 2026-01-09 15:36

Ours didn’t (Dolphin), and we asked for it, it was bought in Algarve region

PeskyEskimo 2026-01-09 15:54

Ours came with one in the UK

chrisjohnmyers 2026-01-09 16:26

Mine came with a v2l but not a level 1 charging cable. Dealer said this model didn't come with them. I found a packing sheet in the glove box that was ticked to say it had one included, so I went back & complained to the dealer. He gave me one straight away. I suspect they were stripping the cars & selling them separately.

GalacticJellyfish81 2026-01-09 19:05

Yeah, there was no physical connection, the car outlet was hot, yet the socket was not. Maybe you can try an old light bulb, just to be sure...

Mo2sync 2026-01-09 19:33

Thanks will do!

Serswed 2026-01-09 21:26

Because if you buy any other european brand you must pay for the charging cable and if you want bag with logo, guess what, you need to pay even more.

My Atto 3 didn’t come with the cable. I asked two dealerships about a replacement: one quoted €470, the other €420. I then searched online and found several options (some used) on eBay for €150–190. Eventually I ordered one from RRR.LT for €120 including shipping, and it worked immediately (Which was great, because someone had blown up a power distribution station with fireworks, leaving several neighborhoods without electricity for hours.)

It depends! In Austria for example you will get the v2l cabel only in the design version of the car! But v2l should work with both versions(comfort/design)

I used it for my home. Very good
