How to install dashcam for BYD Atto 2 car without hardwire kit?

RevolutionaryRow0 | 2026-01-05 08:09 | 27 views

Will be receiving the car next week. The tutorials I saw on YT shows hard wiring which looks complicated, and also void the warranty in my country. has anyone installed and powered via the USB? is it easy to install or should I get the shop to install it at a fee?

The system has a built in dvr system you need only to inject a micro Sd

The car might come with the wire pre installed. I bought wire + camera combo, and when I was ready to start assembling everything, I removed that box where the camera sits, and the wire was already installed from factory, sitting there just waiting for the camera. Check first before ordering anything. The cable was actually around 25€ 😮‍💨

I have not received the car yet. The seller said no dash/rear cam in atto 2

I have an atto2 in Europe, I check and couldn't see the wire, it might be there, but not that I can see. As far as I know, all atto2 models have rear view camera and on some variations  a 360 front camera as well

If you have the new ATTO 2 you probably won't be able to install it, there is no blue connector in the control unit, or it can't be because it has been eliminated or there is a new connector, on mine there was neither cable, nor the possibility (at the moment) to put it

How did you remove the cover? Yesterday, I checked to see if I at least had the hole for the dashcam. It seems to be there, but it's covered with a cap.

I recommend that instead of removing the cover near the rearview mirror, you remove the driver's side cover where you essentially keep your right foot while driving. There's a single panel with all the clips there, where you have to start near the seat and then continue up to the pedals. Then inside you'll find the control unit where all the cables are connected. If you have the same car as me, you shouldn't have the blue connector. Take some photos so we can check together.
